Valentine’s Day

I don’t know what it was in my upbringing that turned me into a hopeless romantic, especially in my young adult life. I can’t believe the poems I penned, and the letters I wrote while in the military. With my first pay cheque, I bought a Yamaha classical guitar. Every chance I had, I sang love songs; in fact I knew every chord and lyrics, to every song that David Gates (Pop group “Bread”) recorded. Well, that was then.

This week, my wife and I took our very first dance lessons. I have to say, it was quite a challenge and it gave us quite a good workout too.
Although, we were more caught up in keeping time, and counting steps, we realized that dance does a different dimension to a husband/wife relationship. Thank you Alex for teaching us, and being so patient when we zigged, when we should have zagged…
We have a Valentine’s Day event tonight and will be making our public debut on the dance floor.
If you’re reading this before the event, please don’t tell the rest just yet!

“Ah, I hear him – my lover! Here he comes, leaping on the mountains and bounding over the hills. My lover is like a swift gazelle or a young deer. Look there he is behind the wall! Now he is looking in through the window, gazing into the room.” Song of Songs 2:8, 9
