It wasn’t too long ago when I spied a big sign that declared; “I Believe!” in GM Place. Then it was a brand new season, with fresh hopes that this would be the year, and that a certain 37 year old hero would sign with the team and maybe just lead the Team to Hockey’s “promised land”. That was then! The last game I was there, that sign was no where to be seen. Instead, the loud boos raining down on the team as they skated off the ice told the story, they’ve just lost another game.
It’s strange how this human ailment infects other aspects of life too.
Even in our faith, we follow when it’s convenient, or when it benefits us. How quickly our “I Believe” is replaced by boos!
“On the other side of the lake the crowds received Jesus with open arms because they had been waiting for him.” Luke 8:40
Compare that with this verse:
“But they shouted, ‘Crucify him! Crucify Him’” Luke 23:21
