Branding

Recognizable signs and logos?

Most everyone from Moscow to Manchester, recognizes the famous swoosh or the Golden Arches. We live in such a Brand-Name-Conscious world that most people can identify these logos. From the time a toddler is able to sit independently and watch TV ads, and from the moment they put on their first “Wee”boks, we are hooked on brand-name products.
It’s more than just creating a simple and recognizable symbol to sell a product.
Many company logos have a history behind them; they are more than some creative product of a graphic artist; there’s a reason why companies choose their logos.
The most recognizable brand-name logo in the world is the cross.

The irony of this symbol is the fact that it really is a cruel implement of death. Imagine wearing a 24 karat gold electric chair trinket around your neck. Who would put a guillotine on top of a steeple? Yet this is the most powerful symbol in the world because it has the most profound message and a personal and penetrating history of God’s love for mankind.
A brand for a company is like a reputation for a person. You earn reputation by trying to do hard things well. Jeff Bezos

  1. It is true that brand/s allow a product to make through or survive to a very vulnerable market. Brands of products which are recognized by the public passed the test of fire. The quality of the brand is tested by how it stands to its demands. And, so with the brand of Christianity. HOw many church goers can honestly claim themselves to be Christians when asked by friends that are unbelievers? Sometimes we just love to go to church becauses of friends and the activities; because that is part of our culture; and because it is expected of us. Worst many of us are called Sunday Christians! Sometimes we are even scared to acknowledge that we are Christians because it is too serious, too demanding and too religiou sounding!

If you have a very expensive purse from Birkins, LV, Gucci or from companies that we can hardly pronounce but still we try our best to utter this brands so that we can show it to our friends and peers. Yet, we are to shy to share our faith - that will show the meaning of Christianity, then what kind of BRANDS are we? Are we representing the same God that came and died for us. Did we understand the meaning of His death on the cross? I hope we will not be too hyped to acquire all this worldy brands, however we should be aggressive in sharing for what we stand for. Afterall, the devil wears Prada!
